We begin our day with an relaxing warm up for our legs at the Buatong waterfall, a great place to drop by before the ride for a breathtaking view of the cascade as we walk up the limestone steppings and listen to the surrounding sound from the nature in this truly calm environment.
We start off cycling on a flat hill for 7 km before a smooth 3 km descend through teak forest on logging trails. Cycling through the rice fields along the tranquil canals, we can see such beautiful scenery as we passes by. We will ride by a fertile plantation near small village on our way to Mae Ngad reservoir. Next we cycle across a dam of fresh water as we head for our lunch to taste some of the specialties dishes from northern Thailand at the river lake restaurant.
In the afternoon we head back to get our bike and cycle on a flat but twisty dirt path through rice fields before a short climb up the hill as we approach the next reservoir, where we will take a break to catch our breath. Continuing on a undulating track area into the wilderness of the countryside as we cycle on the edge of Sri Lanna National Park. We have our last break to be hydrated with fresh supply of water and have a chance to greet and meet the locals at the villages before a final push to the end and finally a transfer back to Chiang Mai.
This ride is suggested for those who like to ride off road and have at least a little experience doing so. We’d recommend a reasonable level of fitness to be able to enjoy this 40 km ride. There is vehicle support to supply fresh water and snacks at points during the ride
