The longest river in Thailand, Chao Phraya River has been a lifeline of Thai people for centuries. It is where Thai people trade, commute and form many traditions. It originates in the north and runs to the sea through Ayutthaya and Bangkok. The river is always lively with boats and vibrant riverside communities. During this tour, you will witness lives along the river and gain unique insights into the culture of Mon people on Koh Kret island, a dominant tribe of central Thailand between the 6th and 10th centuries AD. 13.00 hr. Depart from the boat pier in Bangkok and cruise up north along Chao Praya River passing various Bangkok’s city riverside landmarks.
17.30 hr. Stop at Pathumthani local market to explore the local lifestyle of the people.
18.00 hr. Continue to Wat Kai Tia
18.30 hr. Arrive at Wat Kai Tia for overnight stop.
19.30 hr. Dinner and overnight onboard Mekhala Cruise
06.00 hr. In the early morning, alms offering to the monks at Wat Kai Tia before having breakfast while the Mekhala start cruising back to Bangkok.(Optional)
06.30 hr. Mekhala cruise downstream to Ko Kred while breakfast is serving on board during the cruise.
10.00 hr. Arrive at Ko Kred. Disembark at Ko Kred to explore the local Mon community and witness its unique culture and handicraft making. Refreshing with herbal drink and local snacks with local host on Koh Kret before returning to Mekhala for lunch.
13.00 hr. Back on board Mekhala for lunch while the barge cruise around the island and continue the journey to Bangkok.
16.00 hr. Arrive at the boat pier in Bangkok
